Ever since my trip to Italy, I have come to the conclusion that it is virtually impossible to find a restaurant in Denver that even compares. Luckily, I stumbled upon this lovely place and was in complete bliss as I devoured every bite. Guess this will have to do until my next visit to beautiful Italy.

I decided it was time to try a new recipe. After hours of searching for the perfect one, I landed on a chocolate chiffon cake from Sweetapolita. I have never induldged in such a cake, but it sounded amazing and I couldnt resist. I altered the recipe slightly to cater to the needs of the birthday girl and went with a ganche frosting rather then the suggested rosewater one. The finished product turned out beautifully and everyone went home with satisfied bellies.

Baking job = success!!

What I learned

Meringue is one of the most fascinating baking wonders. Who would have guessed that a bowl of slimmy egg whites, when whisked at high speeds and combined with a touch of sugar, would create a white fluffy loveliness.

I will admit that I am the girl that stands in the kitchen staring in awe and thinking how grateful I am to have a KitchenAid Mixer to do all the work. Can you imagine having to hand whip your own meringue? Arms would literally be falling off.

Cinnamon Goodness

My sweet friend surprised me with this scrumptious treat so I took a little extra time this morning to enjoy its cinnamon goodness. I got out my book and enjoyed a morning of complete bliss. I dont usually take time to eat breakfast before going to work, but this may very well become a new routine for me. Sadly, I dont have the recipe to share..Ill work on that. Creative Girl

Even though I have decided to not make plans this year, I have made it a point to become the creative girl I used to be. When I was little I used to love crafts. I loved to color at home and I loved making sculptures in art class. When I was a bit older I started making cards, sewing aprons and taking photos. I suppose I somehow got in a craft rut over the years and when my sister made me these homemade flowers for Christmas I realized how much I missed this part of me. This year I have made it a goal to revisit my love for crafts and homemade keepsakes. Cant wait to share!

I have made a decision that I am going to make a plan to not make plans. I am going to go with the flow, be spontaneous, and trust that my plan is usually not the right plan (ugh!). Today is going to be the start of living in the present, the here, the now. It is going to be me remembering that despite the worry that fills my every thought..I am blessed and life is not so bad. I just need to open my eyes and experience it. So here is to a year of experiencing life in a new light. Here is to trusting the Lord. Here is to a year of no planning.

P.S. Just to make it clear this does NOT include grocery lists, chore lists, or work related lists. I am a list girl and I will remain a list girl!!

2011 was quite the year and in all honesty nothing like I planned. After leaving the ranch, I was ready to start a career of my own. Thankfully, I did just that and in March I will have worked a full year for a consulting firm in Boulder. Unfortunately, being a working girl is nothing like I thought it would be. I suppose you could say it is a bit overrated and long days in a cube are not exactly my cup of tea. I realize that jobs right out of college are not perfect and getting the "corner office" is something that takes time.

With that being said, 2011 was far from bliss. But it was with out a doubt a year of learning, growing and understanding more about the person I am and want to be. I have a pretty good feeling 2012 will be a big year of change, pursuing my dreams and continuing to remind myself that life is an adventure...I just need to enjoy the ride.

It was one of those days. The type of day when you get home from work and the last thing want to do is cook dinner. Oh wait, who am I kidding, when do I ever want to cook?? For those of you that know me well, please dont answer that question. For those of you that dont know me all that well, the answer is...well close to zero. With that being said, my go to meal is buttered noodles with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese. Talk about gourmet, right!! The problem is, I love it, my taste buds love it, and I love it. Guess I will just have to contine to "cook" it on days like these and every day in between.

Last year didn't feel a whole lot like Christmas. It was the first year my grandma wasn't around and the whole family was a little down on the idea of celebrating. Luckily this year was much better and we were back to the giggly family that we always are.

Favorite Memory: squeezing all 13 of us into a small little cabin and sitting around the table with the fire crackling in the background. I suppose it is moments like these when you realize how special the people in your life really are.

It shocks me that the holiday season is already here and tomorrow we will be sitting in front of the Christmas tree indulging in homemade cinnamon rolls. This year my family is going to Estes Park and spending the day with my extended family. We have decided to change things up a bit and instead of exchanging gifts we are providing dinner for woman and children at The Harvest House. We thought it would be a nice change and a good way to spread the holiday cheer.

I got to the office bright and early to avoid the morning traffic after yet another Denver snow storm and was hoping to get right to work. Sadly, I am now sitting in my chair shivering and bundled in my coat and gloves. The heat isn't working for some reason and my fingers are frozen and refuse to type. I have a hunch that today isn't going to be a very productive day. Oh Monday's.

I got home from work to a beautiful Christmas tree and went straight to cooking Roasted Butternut Squash, Carrot & Ginger Soup for a dinner date with one of my favorite girls. I suppose on nights like these I like the snow outside my window and the below freezing temperatures. Now off to a cozy bed and a morning of sleeping in.

I can't believe its been over a month since my last post. I half fell off the face of the earth, but I am back and ready to start talking.

With that being said, the wheels in my head have been turning a thousand miles a minute. I suppose that I am having my quarter life crisis and am analyzing all of my options. I am busy dreaming about fufilling my passions and wondering how I am going to get there. What steps do I need to take and can I take a leap of faith, despite the fact that I hate change?

I wish I could tell you that this past month has been full of answers, but truth be told I am still wondering. Maybe the point is that I need to stop wondering and just jump.

Hello my dear readers,

I am not sure where the week went. All I can say is that I couldn't be more excited to have a Saturday morning at home sipping hot cocoa and hiding under the covers.

As for the days plans:

1. I'm trying to take in everything I learned at photo camp last night...I will admit that cameras are a lot more complicated then I ever imagined. Hopefully some practice will help.

2. I have another cupcake job this next weekend and need to do some planning. All of my cupcake books are lying on the table and ready to be opened.

3. I did a bit of shopping this past weekend and will be doing a bit of Fall decorating with salt water taffy and miniature pumpkins.

I haven't always been a breakfast fan. Actually, to be completely honest I used to hate it. I can remember sitting at the kitchen table as a little girl with a Nutri-Grain bar and a glass of milk for hours. It was practically torture trying to get through the morning.

However, my thoughts have changed and I have officially decided that I adore breakfast. The best ones are on the weekends...when I don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn and I can enjoy a nice leisurely breakfast with my favorite people.

This morning I went here with my best friend and it couldn't have been more wonderful. The hot cocoa is warm and seasoned with cinnamon and the biscuits practically melt in your mouth.

I suppose you could say that the little girl I used to be is a thing of the past. So here is to more yummy breakfasts to come.

Please know that I am a nice person (most days) and I love doing things for others. However, I am also stubborn and don't take orders very well (at least not ones that are demanding). My gut reaction was to respond with why don't I just get the office donuts as well while I'm at it, but I refrained. So with that being said:

Hot Air Balloon

Truth be told...I want more than anything to ride in one of these. The thought of floating in a colorful balloon sounds like a fairy tale. Yes, cheesy I know, but so true!! So with that being said, hopefully this dream of mine will someday actually come true. For now I will just dream about it and wish that I was attending the Albuquerque Balloon Festival happening this weekend...which by the way is the most photographed event in the world.

Hi My Dears,

I hope that you all had a lovely and refreshing weekend. My mom and I took our annual girls trip and ended up in Salida. We stayed in this B&B and had the most wonderful time. Our hosts Dan and Shirley met our every needs and we couldn't have felt more at home. Their ranch was nestled in the outskirts of Salida, which made for a quiet and peaceful getaway. We stayed in a cozy little room and had breakfasts that kept us full until dinner time. Our mornings were spent walking by the river and the afternoon included window shopping and enjoying the locals. We ended our trip with an afternoon hike on the Colorado Trail in Kenosha Pass. The trees could not have been more beautiful and the weather was incredible.

Exciting news! I am taking my first photography class. I have been pretending to use my Nikon properly for the past two years and my skills are just not cutting it. I suppose you could say that I am sick of being the girl that has to leave my settings on auto because I don't know how to adjust the aperture and shutter speed. So cross my fingers, when I get done with this class I will be taking pictures like a pro...at least I hope so.

P.S. For those of you that were curious, the dinner party this past weekend went amazing!! Everyone loved the cuisine and the company was wonderful. Can't wait for the next one.

It's hard to believe it's already Friday...the weekend is finally here and that means planning for a dinner party. Oh how excited I am!

For those of you that don't know me all that well, I adore dinner parties, especially ones with my closest friends. This dinner party, however, is all about my dad and his engineering buddies. I mustered up enough energy to make oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and the best part is that I used my very own Kitchen Aid Mixer. My wonderful cousin, was sweet enough to pass along her old mixer to me and to say that I am excited is a complete understatement. I will admit that I can't wait for all of the up and coming baking projects. It's amazing how a simple little mixer really inspires the baker in me.

Peach Crisp

I will admit that making peach crisp was quite a big deal for me...why, because I wouldn't really classify myself as a true baker. Let me explain...I went to the market to buy a few ingredients to make this yummy dish. Unfortunately, while in the baking aisle I could not find the almond extract...so I had to break down and ask.

However, while asking where almond abstract would be...yep that's right "abstract," the sweet lady looked at me slightly funny and without saying a thing pointed me in the right direction. I ended up finding exactly what I needed, but also learned the hard truth that I may want to ask for extract the next time around.

Luckily, despite my lack of baking lingo, the peach crisp filled my kitchen with the most amazing smells and tasted delightful.

Peach Crisp:

Ingredients:

4-5 cups peaches

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

3 tablespoons sugar

1 cup plus 3 tablespoons flour

1 cup oats

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup butter

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9x13 pan. Peal 5-6 peaches and cut into slices. Mix peaches, cinnamon, almond extract, sugar, and 3 tablespoons flour. Add to pan. Mix flour, oats, and sugar. Cut in butter and sprinkle mixture over peaches. Bake for 45 minutes, uncovered.

I finally made it to my first Farmers Market this year and was completely in heaven. Seeing all of the fresh produce really makes my heart happy!! The best part is that I got a box of yummy Colorado peaches. The next step is putting on my apron and making homemade peach cobbler.

My dear sweet readers,

Please pray for my cousin (pictured far right)...she just went through major jaw surgery and has quite the recovery ahead of her. For those of you that are into all of the medical terminology, the actual description of her procedure was multi segment lefort/osteotomy, bilateral sagittal osteotomies of the mandible, hydroxyapatite grafting to the cheekbones, nasal floor plasty, local bone harvest floor of nose and maxilla and graft to maxilla with platelet rich plasma and vitoss. Talk about a mouthful. I have absolutely no idea what any of that means, but it definitely sounds intense to say the least.

Adventures in Greece

I honestly am not going to be able to describe this magical place in words, but hopefully the pictures will help to illustrate the beauty.

To clue you in on our whereabouts, the tour of the Greek islands included stops to Corfu, Katakolon, Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini. Each place was lovely, but my favorite by far was Santorini. Our ship dropped us off at the base of this beautiful island and we were let loose to climb the high cliffs. Like the clips in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (the movie that made me dream of traveling to Greece. Silly I know, but oh so true!!), where a couple donkeys roam the steep slopes carrying people, is not quite accurate. Lets just say that my family decided to walk and by the time we reached the top we were tired and sweaty from dodging all of the donkeys literally stampeding up and down the high cliffs. Talk about exciting.

Luckily, once we made it to the top, the view could not have been more beautiful. The rest of the day was spent strolling through the narrow streets window shopping and soaking up the hot sun. We also stopped at a local restaurant and enjoyed some of the most delightful Greek foods. To say that it was not the perfect day would be an understatement.

Needless to say, my trip was incredible.

The Sweetest Thing

Back from Holiday

I have returned! My holiday in Greece was absolutely wonderful and I honestly don't know where to begin when it comes to filling you in on all the details.

Because I have so many pictures...I decided it would be best to tell you about my trip in pieces.

Our trip begin in Venice, Italy. For those of you that have never been, please add it to your list. It is a must see. This lovely little place is like no where I have every been. During the summer months, the air is warm and the sun is hot. The water in the canals sparkles and boats are everywhere carrying fresh fruits and vegetables.

All of the squares are filled with people. Tourists, like ourselves, can't take enough pictures. There is so much to see and do. During the day we visit to the famous Rialto bridge and eat gelato to stay cool. At night we dine in the streets and eat fresh bread and the most amazing pastas.

Venice is truly amazing...I know it really sounds like a fairy tail, but I suppose that is exactly how I felt while I was there.

P.S. I also stopped in Verona. It was lovely and definitely exciting to be in the place where parts of "Letters to Juliet" were filmed. Sadly, there is no wall where girls pour their hearts out in letters, but the balcony does exist. Just a tid bit of information for those of you that like the chick flicks, like me.

Oh and for those of you that are a bit confused...the majority of our trip took place in Greece. We just flew into Venice and thought we might as well do some sight seeing while we were there.

Lesson Learned

I can’t believe it has been an entire week since I posted!! It’s amazing how we fail to do the things in life that we love the most, hence blogging, when things get so crazy. However, I have been running more and it has been amazing!! The weather has been lovely and I have had some really wonderful talks with the Lord. Speaking of that, the Lord taught me a big lesson this weekend.

Lesson learned: It is impossible to be perfect!!

Yes, yes, I know!! You are probably thinking duh…but honestly I really am a perfectionist and when things don’t turn out just right I have a bit of a temper tantrum. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened this weekend. Let me explain…I am attempting to start a cupcake/event coordinating business, as a side job. Over the last month or so, I have been blessed with the opportunity to plan a wedding shower and bake cupcakes for a one year olds birthday. The wedding shower went off without a hitch, but the birthday party turned out a bit differently. The cupcakes pictured above were requested. I was so pleased with the result and couldn’t wait to show them off. Sadly, they didn’t quite look like this by the time I dropped them off. Due to the heat they decided to melt in the car and frosting was no longer on the cupcakes, but on the tray instead. Yes, I wanted to cry. I wanted to cry big tears because my “perfect” cupcakes were not so perfect anymore.

Luckily, I held back the tears, zoomed off to the grocery store, and proceeded to re-frost the cupcakes. All, I can say is thank goodness for the Lord calming my nerves and for my amazing friend Caroline. The big, awful, terrible disaster ended up not being quite so big. The cupcakes were not “perfect” in the way I had hoped, but the Lord reminded me that doing our best is all we can do sometimes, even if the results are not what we hoped for.

The Joys of Work Life

As most of you know by now I have been working a new job for about the past 3 months. Things continue to go well and I am growing to love the people I work with more and more. I will admit though, working at an engineering firm can be quite entertaining considering there are funny engineers running all over the place.

As a girl that grew up with an engineer as a father, it is obvious that most engineers are wired a bit differently than the rest of us folks. Now please don't get me wrong, I adore my father and think the world of him, but he will always be an engineer and like I said, engineers are a bit "different."

Luckily for me, I have found that they truly do make the job that much more exciting because you never know what is going to come out of their mouths. Sometimes they bore you with long drawn out explanations of their projects. Sometimes they talk about the weather or the fact that the microwave is a stange device that should not be used. Sometimes they tell jokes.

So with that being said, the joke of the day is:
What is the difference between an introverted engineer and an extroverted engineer??

Country Wedding Shower

Hello my lovelies,

I am happy to inform y'all that my very first wedding shower was a success. There were no tears, yelling of bad words, or temper tantrums. The planning and actual preparation went perfectly and the bride was so pleased. I will admit that before planning the party I had not met or even spoken to the bride. The arrangements were quite last minute and I only had a weeks notice to get everything squared away. Luckily, with the help of my wonderful mother, an amazing bride, and lots of prayers, I couldn't be more satisfied. To make matters even better, the bride gave me the biggest hug as I left. What a perfect day!

Thank the Lord it’s Friday!! I am so ready for the weekend and with any luck we should have blue skies and sunshine. That means perfect weather for a weekend hike and a Saturday wedding shower, which by the way I have barely started preparing for. The cupcakes are not made, the flowers are not purchased, and all of my decorations are in pieces. That means I will be busy as a bee after work and have a feeling it is going to be quite a late night. To help keep me going I am stopping at Sunflower Market to pick up some yummy gummy bears and a bbq chicken salad from Panera. Have a wonderful weekend my dear readers. Xo

As most of you know by now, I love fashion and I love EmersonMade. So with that being said, I catch myself perusing the blog of Miss Emerson on a weekly basis. I just love the array of clothing she offers: from classy city girl to sweet country gal. I suppose I like it so much because I grew up a city girl and now have the heart of a country gal. I find myself heading off to work in a pencil skirt and heels one day and the next I am in a dress and cowgirl boots. However, I will admit that if I had to choose I would definitely wear the cowgirl boots. There is nothing like being a country girl and I have the ranch to thank for that.

Wedding Shower Planning

Today I really don’t want to be at work. I came into the office, sat down in my chair and pouted a bit. Yes, I know such a mature twenty-something thing to do, but it does happen occasionally. So the reason for my mood…dreaming about a wedding shower that I was asked to plan and wondering what I am doing working for an engineering firm.

Please do not get me wrong, I do enjoy my job and the people that I work with, but my passion is event planning. When I was asked to plan the wedding shower my heart skipped a beat and butterflies filled my stomach. Ever since then a million and one ideas have been going through my head and I can’t wait to actually get started.

To clue you in a bit, the bride is a country girl and her only request was to incorporate the color periwinkle blue into my party planning ideas. Wow, talk about freedom!! As of now, I’m thinking:

2. Sunflowers for center pieces
3. Pictures hung by clothes pins

Morning Adventure

Quick post: Today is a sad and dreary day here in Denver, but for some reason when I poked my head outside…getting out my red umbrella and walking in the rain became a wonderful morning adventure. As I splashed through the puddles and listened to the rain above my head, I realized that I barely take time to enjoy the little moments in life that can be so refreshing.

Sweet Reminders

Last night I had a surprise visit from an old ranch friend. It was lovely. We dined at a local Thai restaurant and talked for hours, while gushing about how amazing the food was. It was the perfect night and made me realize how blessed I am to have been a part of such a special place. Please check out my temporary home at Lost Valley Ranch and maybe even stop for a visit. It is such a magical place and the staff there is beyond amazing. Miss you sweet ranch friends!!

P.S. Every day on the way to work I drive by fields of cows and it is always a sweet reminder of my life as a ranch girl.

The weather in Denver, which I realize I keep rambling about, has not exactly been pleasant and a little beach getaway sounds perfect. Because of my desire to start cooking meals other than Kraft Mac N Cheese and Peanut Butter and Jelly (I was told that is NOT considered cooking), I thought that bright colors would be the best trick to get me in the kitchen. Some of my favorite accessories come from Crate and Barrel (teapot) and Anthropologie (bowls). Now all I need is a KitchenAid Mixer...someday!!!

With the not so pleasant weekend weather, staying inside seemed like the best idea. Luckily with the extra time on my hands I was finally able to take some photos of my new place. So with that being said, my laundry room and walk in closet have become two of my favorite rooms. I suppose it is mostly because I have never had the luxury of having them before and therefore, put a little extra thought into making them just the way I have always imagined them to be.

I'm sick with the flu. Ugh!! However, before the unfortunate bug, my sister came over for dinner and we made this delicious dish for two. I highly recommend it, especially if your tummy is not feeling like mine. It is light and easy. Basically the perfect "Heidi" dish. I'm not exactly very adventurous when it comes to cooking, but I'm willing to learn. Stay tuned and have a delightful weekend.

Bruchetta:
Loaf of bread (I bought asiago cheese from Panera)
1 Cucumber
1 Yellow Pepper
1 Avocado
1 Onion

Cilantro

I will admit that I woke up this morning and decided that I was going to throw a minor temper tantrum. Yes, twenty-somethings do this at times, especially when they wake up to find snow outside their window. I will admit that I got over my disappointment rather quickly and proceeded to make the most of it. In attempts to do so, I sang all the way to work and dreamt of farmers markets. Oh how I just love them and can't wait for warmer days.

A Working Lady

I cannot even begin to tell you how tired I am. It has been a crazy week of trying to learn the logistics of a new job and coming home so exhausted that dinner has consisted of cold pizza and carrot sticks for the past three nights. Thankfully, the weekend is finally here and that means catching up on sleep and trying to get my apartment in order.

However, before I move onto the excitement of once again designing my place, I will fill you in on my new job. I am now working with a company called Nexant. It is an engineering firm based out of San Francisco and their main objective is pioneering solutions for a sustainable energy future.

Yes, yes, for those you that know me, I am sure that you are wondering what on earth is a girl like me doing in a place like this? Well...I will be the first to admit that I could not agree more. However, surprisingly enough I am actually enjoying myself.

To clue you in on a typical day, I work with engineers and project managers by scheduling site visits with small businesses in Toronto. We are currently working along side OPA (Ontario Power Authority) to promote the use of sustainable energy. Beyond that I am not sure what on earth these engineers do, but it has something to do with lighting and kilowatt hours. Lets just say that I have a lot to learn.

In the meantime, my boss sent me home with a 187 page report that I need to read and attempt to understand. Oh boy, the life of a working lady... eeek!!

Dreaming...

It’s official…I have a new place. I cannot exactly say that my apartment is even close to being complete, but I have a bed and cheese and crackers to tide me over. In the meantime, I am in the process of dreaming up ideas and trying to make thrifty purchases that add color and warmth to my new home. To help I have been looking here and here.

Dream Big &

A woman came up to me at work today and said..."Heidi, I was thinking about you this weekend and decided you should start your own business." I have no doubt that my eyes grew to the size of lemons and nothing came out of my mouth. There was no question in my mind that she must have been smoking something this weekend because me starting my own business is a very funny joke. However, after the first 5 seconds of utter shock...I realized that she was serious.

The rest of the day I could barely concentrate...wondering, thinking, staring into space, and thinking some more.

As I drove home, I realized first, that this woman believed in me more than I believed in myself. And two, that I had just been handed a very big complement and needed to do something about it. At this point wheels are constantly turning in my head and I am without a doubt dreaming...

"This is your life. Do what you love, and do it often. If you don't like something, change it. If you don't like your job, quit. If you don't have enough time, stop watching tv. I am up a bit earlier today than I anticipated because I was startled by a text from my Aunt, an email from my Uncle, and a phone call from Barry, the guy that makes sure I don't burn down my "home on loan." The Aunt and Uncle needed something in the office and Barry called to make sure that no bad guys had gotten in the house. I set off the alarm yesterday, surprise, surprise, and the alarm company called Barry twice. Oops!! Anyways, as of now everything is good. Now I just have to tackle the i-chat this evening, as well as, the surround sound. Oh the technology of this place blows me away. I think that I prefer the simple life with NOT so many confusing gadgets. They are distracting and take way too much time to figure out.

So what does the day bring...well currently I am eating a bowl of Corn Puffs, realizing that while the puffs are nice and fluffy, the milk is just not. That good old milk man that delivers fresh milk to my house, will never be beat. I can tell that my taste buds have grown accustomed to my "spoiled-ness." The weather appears to be beautiful and there is not a cloud in the sky. However, because I have not set foot outside I cannot be 100% sure of what the weather is really like. I am imagining a bit breezy and chilly. Not exactly perfect Heidi weather, but then again, I won't complain. The rest of the day includes catching up on my bible study, working out, and enjoy the beautiful view outside my window. So far getaway = perfect. Hope you have a lovely Thursday.

Road Trip

As I drove to work on Monday morning, listening to the radio, and sipping hot chocolate…the weather report caught my attention and announced yet again more snow arriving to the Denver area. Surprise! Surprise! I was scheduled to leave on Tuesday morning for my little getaway I talked about awhile back, but called my mom immediately to inform her of the news. To keep things short, our conversation was brief and I was on the road two hours later with my bags packed.

As I began my twelve hour drive I told myself that the trip was going to be a piece of cake. Good music, occasional stops, periodical phone calls, and day dreaming would be all I needed. FYI-I am the girl that has traveled a TOTAL of two hours by myself in the car ever.

So instead, the drive went something like this…after about an hour into the trip I thought things were going pretty well. Unfortunately, by hour two I was already antsy and wondering how on earth I was going to make it the rest of the way. To pass the time, I thought about nothing and everything. As I drove by every semi I wondered how they survived such long drives. What on earth did they think about hour after hour? I also caught myself saying hello to all of the cows on the side of the road. Yeah, yeah, I know. I realized that tumbleweeds are a bit intimidating and that peanut M&M’s help to pass the time (a trick I learned from my mom). Finally, I listened to a heck of a lot of country music and because no one else was in the car to hear my beautiful voice, I sang at the top of my lungs.

Needless to say, I survived the trip and am excited for a week of relaxing and time to myself. Oh and maybe brainstorming what I am going to think about on the way back home.

Just yesterday I was on the mission to order a bridesmaid dress. As I pulled up the dress on jcrew.com, my first thought was simple and pretty. However, that thought lasted about half a second before I came to the decision that the color and style of the dress would be a terrible fit for about 50% of the female population. Ugh!!! Now please don't get me wrong, I am a firm believer that it is all about the bride and what she wants, but Ugh!!! This is definitely not a dress that you can shorten and wear again.

So with that being said...these bridesmaids dresses are absolutely stunning. What a perfect idea to let each bridesmaid feel comfortable in her own skin, wearing a dress she loves. Plus the color scheme is fantastic. Note to self...remember for later.

P.S. I had to add the groomsmen and their sexy socks!!! Love it.

Summer Jaunt

I think I mentioned once before that my family is traveling to Greece this summer, but if I didn't...now you'll know. Currently, we are in our last stages of planning and in the process of picking excursions that we ALL agree on. Talk about tough. There are nine of us going and at the moment emails are flying around in our inbox's with everyone's thoughts. It could be years before we decide on something. Okay, maybe I am being a bit of a drama queen right now, but it's not going to be easy.

However, if it were completely up to me, my perfect day would entail waking up around eight, putting on a sundress and enjoying a day in the streets of Greece. Looking at whitewashed houses, ancient ruins, and coastal taverns sounds ideal, followed by a mid-afternoon swim in crystal blue waters. The day would conclude at a local restaurant indulging in tsatsiki and lobster. Dessert would be a rich, sweet pastry made with layers of chopped nuts and honey. Oh goodness...I am getting carried away. I guess it is fair to say that I am beyond thrilled for our family getaway.

Night to Myself

I decided to take the evening off. I canceled all of my plans and am enjoying a night to myself. Here are my plans:

Waiting Patiently

I am not sure I informed you all, but my current job is only a temp position and is unfortunately about to end in the next couple weeks. I have to admit that the time I have worked at the hospital has been wonderful and I have been blessed to work with the most amazing people. However, it is onto my next adventure. The only problem is I am not exactly sure what that entails.

Luckily, because I am the girl that never stops thinking, I have already been plotting my next move...some of which are big dreams and others that are a bit more reasonable. The only problem is I have encountered in the past that the plans I have for myself are usually not the plans the Lord has for me. So with that being said I will wait patiently on the Lord.
